Jeddah Airport Traffic Surges in Early 2026

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has kicked off 2026 with record-breaking passenger numbers, as peak holiday travel drove some of the busiest days in the airport's history.

Between January 11 and 17, the airport recorded its busiest operational week ever, serving 1.28 million passengers. The single busiest day came on January 17, when 195,300 travelers passed through the terminals.

Across the full month of January 2026, the airport handled 5.45 million passengers on 29,200 flights, along with 6.6 million pieces of baggage. The strong start carried through the first quarter, which saw more than 14.8 million passengers and over 83,000 flights.

By the end of the first half of 2026, the airport had welcomed 24.5 million passengers across more than 153,000 flights, while processing 28.9 million bags. The momentum builds on a record 2025, when the airport served 53.4 million passengers — its highest annual total to date.

For residents and travelers in Jeddah, the rising figures point to busier terminals during holiday periods and continued growth in air connectivity through the Kingdom's western gateway. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time for check-in and arrivals during peak days.
