Jeddah's Second Health Cluster has won the National Patient Safety Award in the Leadership in Patient Safety track, earning the recognition for its "We Are All Safety" project.
The National Patient Safety Award is an annual honor launched in 2018 by the Saudi Patient Safety Center, which operates under the Ministry of Health. It was created to recognize and encourage innovative patient-safety projects across the Kingdom's healthcare system.
The current edition of the award spans nine tracks covering a wide range of healthcare priorities: Students and Researchers, Patient Engagement for Their Safety, Maternal and Newborn Safety, Medication Safety, General Patient Safety, Patient Safety Training, Choosing Wisely, Leadership for Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare Facilities.
Why it matters
For residents and families in Jeddah, the recognition reflects ongoing efforts to raise the quality and safety of care delivered in public hospitals and clinics. The Leadership in Patient Safety track specifically highlights initiatives driven from within healthcare organizations to embed a culture of safety among staff and patients alike.
The "We Are All Safety" project underscores a shared-responsibility approach, encouraging everyone involved in care — from leadership to frontline teams — to play a part in protecting patients. Awards like this help spotlight practices that can be adopted more widely across the Kingdom's growing healthcare network.
