Saudi Arabia Recalls 6,574 BMW Cars Over Fire Risk

Saudi authorities have issued a recall covering 6,574 BMW vehicles in the Kingdom over a wiring defect that could lead to an electrical short circuit, smoke, or fire. The Ministry of Commerce announced the recall, which affects BMW 5 Series and 7 Series models produced between 2023 and 2025.

Owners of the affected cars are advised to arrange the repair through the authorized dealer, Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Company. The inspection and fix are carried out entirely free of charge, at SAR 0, so there is no cost to the vehicle owner.

To find out whether a specific car is included, drivers can verify their vehicle using its VIN (chassis number) on the official Recalls.sa platform. The recall applies only to the affected vehicles identified in the notice.

Why it matters

A faulty wiring harness can create a serious safety hazard, including the risk of fire while driving or parking. Acting quickly on a recall protects owners, passengers, and others on the road. Because the repair is free, there is no financial reason to delay.

Vehicle recalls are a routine part of ongoing safety monitoring, and following the official steps ensures the fix is done correctly by the authorized dealer. While a broader global BMW fire-risk recall covering additional models was later issued, the figures here apply specifically to the 6,574 vehicles identified in the Kingdom. Owners who confirm their car is affected should not ignore the notice and should schedule the free repair as soon as possible.
