Cultural centers in Jeddah are broadening their calendars of arts workshops and creative programs, offering more year-round opportunities for children, teens and emerging artists across the city.
Hayy Jameel in the Al-Muhammadiyah neighborhood runs an expanded program built around several strands. Hayy Explorers holds weekly studio and makerspace sessions for children and youth; between July and September 2026 these are scheduled on Thursdays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with themed creative activities and hands-on experimentation.
Hayy Makers focuses on specialized applied-arts workshops such as ceramics, paper craft and archiving, alongside open calls for makers and artisans. Its 2026 lineup includes programs like "Uploading Memory," "Jeddah's Historic Houses in Paper," and incubator-style "Makers Matters" activities. Meanwhile, Hayy Learning offers structured after-school programs for teens, including "Recess: An After-School Programme for Teens" running June 6 to August 23, 2026, centered on creative skills and collaboration.
Youth-focused initiatives at the center include short creative-expression workshops such as "Little Art, Big Heart" (January 28–29, 2026) and month-long summer youth ambassador cohorts run with creative-industry partners, such as one scheduled from August 1 to 31, 2026.
In Historic Jeddah, the Red Sea Museum on the Al-Balad waterfront announced a January 2026 cultural program featuring artistic workshops, cultural talks, live performances and family activities. Sessions cover topics including mapmaking for children (Junior Cartographers), historical photography processes (Albumen prints) and navigation as an artistic-technical theme.
Why it matters
These centers organize their offerings around age-specific groups — children, teens, youth and the general public — and provide dedicated spaces for learning, experimentation and direct interaction between audiences and artists. For families and young residents in Jeddah, the expanded schedules mean more accessible pathways into the arts and stronger support for local creative talent throughout the year.
