Jeddah to Host Royal Reserves Research Forum in 2026

The University of Jeddah will host an Environmental Sustainability Forum focused on the Kingdom's royal reserves, bringing together researchers and specialists to discuss scientific research priorities. The event takes place at the University of Jeddah Conference Center in Jeddah on September 30 and October 1, 2026.

Organized by the University of Jeddah under the theme "Royal Reserves (Mahmiyah)," the forum will explore environmental sustainability, royal-reserve management, biodiversity, and ecotourism. A central aim is to strengthen cooperation among government bodies, academic institutions, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations.

The two-day program includes ten discussion sessions and an environmental exhibition. The forum will also see the signing of memoranda of understanding involving relevant authorities, supporting coordinated efforts across the sectors that work on conservation and sustainable development.

Why it matters

The Kingdom's royal reserves play a growing role in protecting natural habitats and promoting responsible tourism. A dedicated forum on research priorities helps align scientific work with conservation goals, creating opportunities for academics, environmental professionals, and the wider community interested in sustainability.

For residents in Jeddah and beyond, the event offers a window into how reserves are managed and how biodiversity and ecotourism can be developed responsibly. No participation or entry fee was stated in the available information, and registration and further details are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
