The organizers of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2026) have confirmed that the event will not proceed on its planned dates. The conference had been scheduled to take place from 28 September to 1 October 2026 at Prince Sultan University in الرياض.
Registration for the conference had originally been set to close on 15 September 2026. With the event now called off on those dates, attention has shifted to the handling of fees already paid by registrants.
Refunds and Registration Fees
Registration fees for the conference were payable in euros rather than in ريال سعودي. The international standard fee was set at €90, the international student fee at €45, and Saudi university students were eligible to register free of charge.
The Saudi student waiver required proof of enrollment at a Saudi higher-education institution during the 2025/2026 academic year, while international student pricing required proof of enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program during the same academic year.
paid registration fees will be refunded through the original payment method. Participants who paid by bank transfer will be contacted directly to confirm their refund details.
For members of the academic and professional community in الرياض and beyond who had planned to attend, the update is a reminder to check email and payment records for any refund communications. Notably, registration for the conference did not require any Saudi-government portal such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا.
