Specialized Medical Company (SMC Healthcare) has signed a contract worth SAR 148,447,428.50, excluding value-added tax, to build the structural works of its new SMC 3 Hospital on Riyadh's Northern Ring Road. The agreement was signed on 27 September 2026 with Maharat Al-Injaz Contracting Company.
Under the contract, the contractor will handle the foundations, construction works, structural framework, and related tasks in line with the approved drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. The work is scheduled to run for 360 calendar days, starting from the handover of the site.
Once completed, SMC 3 Hospital will offer a capacity of 296 beds and 200 outpatient clinics, positioning it as a major addition to healthcare services in the northern part of the capital. The company expects construction to be finished during the fourth quarter of 2028.
Why it matters
The project reflects continued expansion in private healthcare capacity in Riyadh, where demand for beds and specialized clinics keeps rising alongside the city's growth. For residents and families in the north of the capital, the new facility promises easier access to hospital services and outpatient care once it opens.
The company said the project will be financed through internal resources and/or bank facilities as required. The stated contract value does not include the applicable Saudi VAT, which will be added on top of the figure.
