Riyadh Schools Move to Remote Learning for One Week

Schools in Riyadh moved from in-person classes to remote learning for one week, running from Sunday, September 27, through Thursday, October 1, 2026. The arrangement covered students, teaching staff, educational staff, and administrative staff.

During this period, classes were delivered through Madrasati and other approved educational platforms, allowing lessons to continue without students attending campuses in person. Parents were informed about the shift through their schools' approved communication channels.

The measure applied specifically to Riyadh and did not extend to schools across the rest of the Kingdom. No fees, application steps, or related charges were involved in the temporary switch to online learning.

Why it matters to families

For families in Riyadh, the one-week arrangement meant adjusting daily routines around home-based learning while keeping the academic schedule on track. Because classes ran through familiar digital platforms, students were able to follow the same curriculum and stay connected with their teachers throughout the week.

Parents were advised to keep an eye on official school channels for timing details and any updates. With in-person classes resuming after the week concluded, the temporary shift was designed to maintain continuity of learning for all students in the capital.
