Remote Learning Extended in Riyadh, Diriyah to Oct 22

Schools across Riyadh city and Diriyah Governorate will continue remote learning for another week, with classes running online until Thursday, 22 October 2026. The extension applies to all students, teachers, and educational and administrative staff.

During this period, lessons will continue through the Madrasati platform and other approved educational platforms. Access to the Ministry of Education's remote-learning platforms remains free, with no SAR fee required for students or staff.

At this stage, no later return-to-school date has been set, and no additional conditions have been announced for families or school administrations. The current arrangement covers only the week ending 22 October 2026.

Why it matters

The continued use of remote learning allows students in Riyadh and Diriyah to keep up with their coursework without interruption. Families are encouraged to make sure students have the devices and internet access needed to log in to their classes on time each day.

Teachers and administrative staff are also expected to carry out their duties remotely during this week. Parents and students who need help accessing lessons can rely on the approved platforms, which are provided at no cost, to follow the daily schedule.

Saudi Living will share any updates on return-to-school dates or new instructions as they become available.
