The Specialized Medical Company (SMC Healthcare) has signed a construction contract worth SAR 148,447,428.50, excluding value-added tax, with Mahart Al-Injaz Contracting Company to build a new hospital in Riyadh. The agreement covers the foundations and structural framework of the facility, known as SMC 3 Hospital, located on Riyadh's Northern Ring Road.
the new hospital is planned to include a capacity of 296 beds and 200 outpatient clinics, along with a helipad to support emergency and specialized medical services. The project is expected to strengthen healthcare capacity in the northern part of the capital.
The contract runs for 360 calendar days, beginning once the construction site is handed over to the contractor. Construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028. The company said the project will be financed through its own internal resources and/or bank facilities, and confirmed that the contract involves no related parties.
The reported value of SAR 148,447,428.50 is stated before the application of 15% VAT. If value-added tax is applied to the full contract value, the total would reach approximately SAR 170,714,042.78.
For residents in Riyadh, the new facility signals continued expansion of private healthcare infrastructure in the capital. Additional hospital beds and outpatient clinics can help ease demand on existing medical services and expand access to specialized care in the growing northern districts of the city.
