The Saudi Electronic University has officially been renamed Prince Musaid bin Abdulrahman University under a royal directive issued on 18 September 2026. The change followed a recommendation by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The institution remains a Saudi government higher-education body headquartered in Riyadh, with branches located in other regions of the Kingdom. Its status and mission as a public university continue unchanged under the new name.
The university continues to offer its established range of academic tracks, including undergraduate degrees, graduate studies, and lifelong-learning programs designed to serve working professionals and students seeking flexible study options.
What It Means for Students
For current and prospective students, the renaming does not introduce changes to the university's academic offerings or its role within the national higher-education system. The institution keeps its Riyadh headquarters and regional presence, and its programs across all levels remain in place.
No changes to fees, application steps, or administrative procedures were identified in connection with the renaming. Students and applicants are encouraged to rely on official university channels for confirmation of any details related to enrollment or academic services under the new name.
