Kayzo, a Saudi-born contemporary Japanese restaurant concept known for its East-meets-West and Arabian twist, is preparing to open its first full-service dine-in branch in Jeddah at Westfield Jeddah mall. The opening is described as coming later this year, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
Developed as a more casual, lifestyle-led sister concept to Myazu and part of Modern Food Company founded by Saudi national Faisal Shaker, Kayzo already serves Jeddah residents through a delivery and pickup kitchen at Al Basateen Mall. The upcoming Westfield branch will bring the brand's shared-plates, Japanese street-food-inspired menu to a full dine-in setting for the first time in the city.
The concept blends Japanese cuisine with regional and international flavors, featuring dishes such as truffle butter beef Takikomi Gohan and Gulf prawn-based sushi rolls. Its relaxed, family-friendly service style places dishes centrally on the table as they are prepared, encouraging sharing.
What to expect on the menu
In Saudi Arabia, Kayzo's menu typically includes specialty cold dishes and sushi rolls in the SAR 60–90 range, hot mains such as black pepper beef noodles, Beef Takikomi Gohan and Kimchi Fried Rice in the SAR 90–150 range, and mocktails and specialty drinks around SAR 30–45. Previous National Day specials have included items like Hamachi en salsa at SAR 69 and a green Midori mocktail at SAR 35.
The brand currently operates two flagship venues in Riyadh: Kayzo by Myazu at Oud Square in the Diplomatic Quarter, open daily from 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm; and Kayzo in As Sulimaniyah district, open Saturday to Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 12:00 am and Thursday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am. The Sulimaniyah branch is listed in the MICHELIN Guide Saudi Arabia within the mid-range price band. The Jeddah expansion adds a new dining option for residents seeking Japanese-inspired comfort food with a local character.
