Mahd Launches Football Tryouts in 16 Saudi Cities

Mahd Sports Academy is set to hold nationwide football talent tryouts across 16 Saudi cities between September and December 2026, aiming to discover promising young players from across the Kingdom. The tryouts are open to boys born between 2013 and 2017, with each city hosting its sessions within this window.

The 16 host cities are Abha, Makkah, Tabuk, Jazan, Hail, Qassim, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Baha, Madinah, Arar, Yanbu, Najran, Sakaka, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Taif, and Al-Kharj. Registration is completed online through the academy's dedicated tryouts page (mahd.gov.sa/try-outs), where families select the city, date, and age group before submitting the form.

Mahd's talent discovery programs are free national initiatives, with no registration or participation fees. Registration is handled directly through the academy's own website and talent platform, and is not processed through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or other government service portals.

How the process works

Participants first check eligibility, then submit an online registration for their chosen city and date. Accepted applicants receive an invitation with trial details. The evaluation includes a first performance trial lasting one day, followed by a second trial over one week for deeper assessment.

Selected players then enter an initial acceptance stage of one week up to one month of monitoring. Once confirmed, they join Mahd's sports development stage, a full season of around 10 months of continuous training.

For families in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, the tryouts offer a free, structured pathway for young players to be spotted and developed by a national academy, supporting the broader push to build homegrown sporting talent across the Kingdom.
