Makkah Mayoralty has opened qualification registration for catering contractors ahead of the 1448 AH / 2027 Hajj season, with applications beginning Saturday 1 Rabi Al-Akher 1448 AH, corresponding to 12 September 2026. The registration targets companies and establishments providing catering services in Makkah and the Holy Sites during Hajj, including firms seeking to become catering contractors for pilgrims.
Applications are accepted exclusively through the mayoralty's dedicated electronic qualification platform for catering contractors. No alternative submission channels are accepted. Establishments must complete and update their data on the platform in line with approved technical, health, and administrative standards, and incomplete applications will be excluded from the qualification process.
Eligibility focuses on licensed catering establishments operating in Makkah and the Holy Sites. Applicants are required to meet municipal health and safety regulations, operational capacity requirements, and approved qualification criteria, and must demonstrate the ability to serve large numbers of pilgrims. Officials describe the step as an early qualification stage ahead of contract awards for Hajj 2027, involving data submission and review, technical and administrative compliance checks, and the shortlisting of qualified contractors.
The process follows the same digital, qualification-based approach used for the Hajj 2026 catering program, indicating continuity of the electronic qualification system. For Hajj 2027 service providers more broadly, catering and nutrition are among the key sectors invited to apply through Nusuk and the General Authority's e-services portal, with initial expressions of interest due by 30 October 2026 and subsequent technical and financial evaluation before final contracts are awarded.
For catering businesses in Makkah and the Holy Sites, early registration and complete, compliant documentation are essential to remain in the running. The move reflects continued efforts to organize pilgrim services digitally and raise the quality of food provision during the Hajj season.
