MCIT, Savvy Sign Deal to Grow Saudi Gaming Talent

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Savvy Games Group signed a memorandum of understanding at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, aiming to develop Saudi talent and expand career opportunities in gaming and esports.

The agreement focuses on building career pathways, employment prospects, and entrepreneurship across the sector. Under the partnership, Savvy Academy’s Next-Gen programme will be delivered through Tuwaiq Academy and the Saudi Digital Academy, while Savvy Academy masterclasses will be made available to participants in MCIT programmes.

The deal also connects the two sides on entrepreneurship. Savvy’s Nine66 Incubator will be integrated with MCIT’s Center of Digital Entrepreneurship incubator under a joint initiative called Code-Nine66, giving founders and startups in the gaming field access to combined support.

Why it matters

Gaming and esports have become a fast-growing part of the Kingdom’s digital economy, and this collaboration brings together training programmes, masterclasses, and startup incubation under one framework. For young Saudis and aspiring professionals, it opens clearer routes into a sector that continues to attract investment and attention.

Applications and programme dates are handled directly through MCIT, Tuwaiq Academy, the Saudi Digital Academy, Savvy Academy, and the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship. The agreement does not specify participant fees, application fees, or fixed prices, and no additional government procedure was announced.
