The Ministry of Culture has moved its headquarters to a newly built complex in Diriyah's Northern District, integrating the ministry into the area's wider cultural and institutional master plan. The move follows a memorandum of understanding signed in mid-2022 between the Ministry of Culture and Diriyah Gate Development Authority, with construction reported as completed by 2026.
Described as the largest standalone office building in Diriyah, the new headquarters has a built-up area of 33,168 square meters. Its architecture draws inspiration from traditional Najdi design, reflecting Saudi heritage and the historical character of Diriyah and Wadi Hanifa. The building sits near the At-Turaif District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, within a growing cluster that is planned to include museums, a university, a library, and public spaces.
Inside, the complex is designed to accommodate the ministry's teams and operational needs, offering tailored office layouts, high-quality facilities, and advanced digital infrastructure to support an integrated work environment. The building has earned LEED Gold certification (LEED v4, Design and Construction: Core and Shell) as well as Mostadam Gold certification under the national green building rating system, classifying it as a green, sustainable commercial building.
What it means for the community
The relocation places a major government institution at the heart of one of the Kingdom's most significant heritage destinations, strengthening Diriyah's role as a cultural and institutional hub. The Ministry of Culture's public contact and service hours remain Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with contact details and service information available through the ministry's official digital channels.
There is currently no public information specifying any fees, ticket prices, or paid public services tied to visiting or using the headquarters building itself, and no specific e-government platform is described as required to interact with this particular headquarters.
