New Musaned Service Lets Expats Move to Domestic Jobs

A new online service on Musaned, the Kingdom's official platform for domestic-worker recruitment and related services, now allows individuals to apply to transfer eligible foreign workers from private-sector companies into domestic occupations. The service targets residents and employers looking to move qualified workers into household jobs through a fully electronic process.

To qualify, a worker must hold a valid work permit and must not be employed in senior, specialist, healthcare, technical, or educational professions. The new position must also be officially classified as domestic work. Applicants need to submit an electronically certified waiver from the current employer, proof of the new employer's financial ability, and the worker's residence permit showing fingerprint and signature.

Supporting documents can be uploaded in PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, DOCX, and XLSX formats, with a maximum size of 3 MB For expatriate residents, the domestic-worker limit is set at 2 workers; any additional worker beyond that limit carries an annual fee of SAR 9,600

Recruitment and fees

For those recruiting domestic workers through Musaned, the unified visa fee is SAR 2,000 and residents must show a monthly income of at least SAR 4,000 to meet the financial-ability requirement. The recruitment flow runs through Absher login, submitting a New Recruitment Request on Musaned, choosing the profession and nationality, selecting a licensed office, reviewing and paying the contract fees, then awaiting confirmation and visa issuance.

Musaned has also introduced other recent updates. From 1 January 2026, domestic-worker salaries must be paid electronically through Musaned-approved channels. A Work Interruption service is now live on the platform as well. Support is available around the clock by phone at 920002866 and by email at care.e@musaned.gov.sa. The changes give households and workers clearer, more transparent procedures for managing domestic employment.
