Residents of Makkah and Al-Jumum were advised to prepare for unsettled weather after forecasts pointed to light rain accompanied by gusty winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and thunderstorms. The initial alert was scheduled to remain in effect until 8:00 p.m. on September 27, 2026.
That short-term alert has since been superseded by a broader multi-day outlook covering parts of the Makkah Region. Rainfall of varying intensity is now forecast from Monday, September 28, through Friday, October 2, 2026.
In Al-Jumum, temperatures were expected to reach a maximum of around 41°C and a minimum of about 27°C. In Makkah, highs of roughly 41°C and lows near 30°C were forecast, alongside thunderstorm rain and blowing dust that could affect visibility on the roads.
How to Stay Updated
Residents can follow the latest forecasts and alerts through the National Center for Meteorology website, its Early Warning System, and its mobile services. There is no SAR fee for accessing weather forecasts or alerts.
With rain and dust expected across several days, motorists and outdoor workers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, drive cautiously in reduced visibility, and check for updated advisories before heading out.
