Government agencies in Saudi Arabia have adopted more than 500 public submissions and amended draft regulations accordingly, following an active period of consultation through the Kingdom's unified electronic platform for reviewing draft rules before approval. The changes reflect input gathered directly from the public, government bodies and the private sector.
During the first half of 2026, 54 government entities published 209 economic and development-related draft regulations and received 8,475 comments. From this feedback, agencies incorporated over 500 proposals into the final texts.
The amendments were wide-ranging. They included removing or modifying regulatory requirements, resolving overlapping provisions, reducing certain fines and fees, narrowing or expanding where rules apply, and revising implementation timelines. Together, these adjustments aim to make regulations clearer and easier to comply with for residents and businesses alike.
How to take part
The consultation platform is open to everyone. Participants can open the relevant consultation, review the draft and supporting documents, log in when required through the Saudi digital-identity process, submit comments or proposals before the stated deadline, and later monitor the published outcome. Submitting comments or proposals carries no stated fee.
Each consultation stays open only until its own published closing date, so there is no general validity period for proposals. As of 24 September 2026, the platform had opened 35 projects in cooperation with 24 government entities, with feedback on the listed projects accepted until 10 October 2026.
For the community, the platform offers a direct way to shape rules that affect daily life and business operations — from fees and paperwork to how and when new requirements come into force.
