Saudi Arabia has ramped up its summer travel and tourism operations for the peak season, combining an expanded tourism programme with major additions to air, rail, road, and maritime capacity for Hajj 2026.
The official summer tourism programme, Saudi Summer 2026, covers five key destinations: Aseer, the Red Sea, Jeddah, Taif, and Al-Baha. Marketed under the theme “Our Summer, Our Way,” the programme launched a dedicated offers platform with more than 50 private-sector partners to bundle accommodation, flights, events, and entertainment across seasonal destinations.
On the aviation side, Saudia has added eight international summer destinations for 2026: Salalah, Antalya, Bodrum, Nice, Athens, Mykonos, El Alamein, and Málaga. The airline says these flights will operate from June to September 2026 and are planned to support peak travel demand during Hajj and Eid al-Adha.
Larger Hajj transport network
For Hajj 2026, the Kingdom has expanded transport operations across air, rail, road, and maritime networks, offering more than 3.1 million seats and over 12,000 flights. Rail readiness includes more than 2,000 Mashair train trips and 5,308 Haramain High-Speed Railway services, with total capacity above 2.2 million seats.
Ground mobility features around 33,000 buses and 5,000 taxis, along with special shuttle services in Madinah to the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque during the Day of Arafah and Eid Al-Adha.
For residents and visitors planning summer trips or pilgrimage travel, the wider capacity and additional routes mean more options during the busiest weeks of the year. Travellers are advised to confirm schedules and prices directly, as fixed fees, ticket prices, and opening hours for individual attractions have not been published.
