Saudi Arabia Resumes Oil Exports via East-West Pipeline

Saudi Arabia resumed partial crude-oil exports through the East-West Pipeline from Yanbu on September 27–28, 2026, following the completion of repairs after drone damage on September 10.

The pipeline is currently being operated at approximately 3.5 million barrels which is about half of its theoretical capacity of roughly 7 million barrels A portion of the crude being transported is being allocated to domestic refineries to support local supply.

Full restoration of the pipeline to its complete operating capacity is expected to take approximately six to eight weeks, with work continuing in stages during that period.

Why it matters

The East-West Pipeline is a key part of the country's energy infrastructure, carrying crude across the Kingdom to Yanbu on the Red Sea coast for export and for supply to refineries. The resumption of flows, even at partial capacity, signals a steady return to normal operations after the disruption.

For residents and the wider community, the update reflects the ongoing stability of the Kingdom's energy sector, a cornerstone of the national economy. No consumer fee, price change, or government application process applies to this infrastructure update. Saudi Living will continue to follow developments as work progresses toward full capacity.
