Saudi Cities Plan Family Heritage Festivals in 2026

Saudi Arabia is expanding a series of community-oriented cultural festivals across its major cities during 2025 and 2026, aiming to widen family entertainment and celebrate local heritage. The push falls under رؤية السعودية 2030 programs, which are delivering tens of thousands of concerts, theatrical performances, comedy shows, art exhibitions, and family events distributed across every major city.

An official cultural events calendar aggregates community, heritage, and family-focused activities, and is published and updated through an online portal, with service and contact hours typically running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key heritage festivals

The Traditional Arts Festival 2026 will take place in the الدرعية historic district (UNESCO-listed), around King Faisal Road and the Bujairi area in الرياض, from March 26 to April 8, 2026, daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. It will feature more than 20 regional performing arts, including Najdi sword dances, Hijazi shadow plays, and traditional music and folk arts, with a strong focus on national identity and Saudi heritage. Entry is structured as event tickets sold via standard Saudi ticketing platforms.

The Common Ground Festival returns for its third edition at Al-Malfa Hall in Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City (Misk City), الرياض, from December 24, 2025 to January 6, 2026. It centers on Saudi–Chinese cultural year programming, with family-friendly exhibitions, performances, and a "Cultural Street" for handicrafts, music, and interactive heritage experiences, welcoming families, foreign visitors, delegations, and cultural professionals.

In the Qassim Region, the Dukhnah Summer Festival 2026 will be held at Khazzaz Park during summer 2026.

For families and residents, the expanding calendar offers more accessible weekend and holiday options close to home, while strengthening the visibility of Saudi heritage and performing arts across the Kingdom.
