Saudi Cricket Team Unbeaten in T20 World Cup Qualifier

Saudi Arabia's national cricket team has completed its World Cup qualifying campaign without a single defeat, securing passage to the next stage of the competition. The team finished the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier B with a perfect record.

The side won all five of its matches, collecting 10 points to top its group. The unbeaten run earned Saudi Arabia a place in the following qualifying stage, which is scheduled for 2027.

The flawless result marks a notable milestone for cricket in the Kingdom, a sport that has a strong following among the country's large expatriate community alongside a growing base of local players and fans.

Why it matters

Cricket is among the most widely watched sports for many residents across the Kingdom, particularly in the Gulf's diverse communities. A clean sweep in qualifying gives the national team momentum and raises the profile of the game at home.

With the next stage set for 2027, the result keeps Saudi Arabia on course in its pursuit of a place at the T20 World Cup and offers something for fans across the Kingdom to rally behind in the seasons ahead.
