Saudi Cricket Federation Expands Game Across Kingdom

The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) is pursuing a nationwide plan to grow cricket across the Kingdom through its National Cricket Championship, schools programs, academies, community tournaments, clinics, and talent pathways. For the 2025–2026 season, the federation oversees 370 clubs, 107 grounds, two academies, and 15 regional associations.

School cricket programs are running in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, covering boys and girls in international and other schools. Monthly social-cricket events take place in at least five Saudi cities, with activities designed for women, families, and children. The National Cricket Championship has reached roughly 7,500 players nationwide.

Plans also include a dedicated cricket stadium in Jeddah, intended to offer playing and training facilities for international matches and major tournaments. On the competition front, the Dunes Legends T20 is scheduled for 15–30 October 2026 at Taif Stadium, featuring six city-based franchises.

Where to play

Several facilities already welcome new players. The Net Indoor Cricket Academy in Jeddah offers coaching at a typical fee of SAR 300. KAUST in Thuwal provides annual cricket-club membership for SAR 100, with non-member access to club events at SAR 50. In Dhahran, Peninsula Sports Academy lists cricket-inclusive packages at SAR 754 and SAR 1,559.

The expansion matters for the Kingdom's large expatriate and resident communities, many of whom follow the sport closely. With more clubs, grounds, and school and community programs, cricket is becoming more accessible to players of all ages and skill levels across major cities and beyond.
