Saudi Arabia's digital economy contributed 16.0% of the Kingdom's gross domestic product in 2024, edging up from 15.6% a year earlier and moving closer to one-sixth of the national economy. The sector was valued at roughly SAR 495 billion during the year.
The contribution breaks down across three layers: the core digital economy accounted for 2.7%, the narrow digital economy 2.4%, and the broad digital economy 10.9%. Together they reflect the widening role of technology and connectivity across a range of industries.
Why it matters
The figures point to steady momentum in digital activity as a share of overall output. Saudi Arabia's real GDP stood at around SAR 4.9 trillion in 2025, while the information and communications technology market reached approximately SAR 199 billion in the same year.
Looking ahead, the FY2026 budget projects the telecommunications and technology market to hold at roughly SAR 199 billion by the end of 2026. For residents and businesses across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the growing digital share signals continued investment in connectivity, digital services and technology-driven jobs.
The trend aligns with the wider push to diversify the economy and expand non-oil sectors, with digital services increasingly woven into daily life and commercial activity nationwide.
