Saudi GDP Forecast: Strong 7.9% Growth Seen in 2027

Saudi Arabia's economy is projected to see a strong rebound in 2027, with one recent international projection estimating real GDP growth of 7.9% for that year. The forecasts cover a period in which estimates for 2026 have shifted significantly depending on when they were issued.

real GDP was projected to grow by 4.6% in fiscal year 2026. A later mid-year 2026 estimate, however, pointed to a 3.6% contraction in real GDP, while non-oil activities were expected to keep expanding at 3.2%.

International projections also varied through the year. A July 2026 projection estimated real GDP growth of 1.7% in 2026 and 5.5% in 2027. A revised October 2026 projection estimated a 3.3% contraction in 2026, followed by a sharper rebound of 7.9% in 2027.

Why it matters

The gap between these figures reflects shifting assumptions around oil output and the pace of non-oil growth. The continued expansion of non-oil activities is a key indicator for residents and businesses, as it underpins jobs, consumer spending, and private-sector opportunities tied to the Kingdom's broader diversification goals under رؤية السعودية 2030.

For the community, a projected strong rebound in 2027 would signal renewed momentum across sectors ranging from retail and services to construction and tourism. Saudi Living will continue to follow updated economic outlooks as new figures become available.
