Saudi Living reports a sharp rise in new investment activity across the Kingdom, with investment licenses climbing roughly 252% in the second quarter — a strong signal of confidence among investors looking to set up and expand in Saudi Arabia.
Licenses are issued through the وزارة الاستثمار, which oversees the process for new and existing investors. The standard license issuance fee is SAR 2,000 with validity of up to five years, while amending a license costs SAR 2,000 plus the applicable commercial registration update fees.
Investors joining the Investor Relations Centers pay SAR 10,000 for the first year, followed by SAR 60,000 In a notable 2026 update, issuance and renewal fees have been reported as suspended or waived for many investors, although annual service and subscription charges still appear in the 2026 fee guidance.
Faster setup for new businesses
One of the biggest draws for investors is speed. Commercial registration under an investment license is now completed within 72 hours, helping companies begin operations quickly and reduce delays in launching new ventures.
For the community, the surge points to more jobs, more services, and a wider range of businesses opening in cities such as الرياض, جدة and الدمام. It also reflects continued momentum behind رؤية السعودية 2030 and its goal of attracting long-term investment.
Investors can reach the وزارة الاستثمار through the toll-free number 8002449990 inside the Kingdom, +966115065777 from outside the Kingdom, or by email at InvestorCare@misa.gov.sa.
