Saudi School Calendar 2025-2026: Dates & Breaks

Public schools across Saudi Arabia begin the 2025–2026 academic year under a two-semester framework, with the approved calendar covering the next four years. Classes start on 24 August 2025 in most regions and on 31 August 2025 in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif.

The school year runs until 25 June 2026 within the approved timeframe, maintaining the standard 180-day framework. The second semester includes 92 actual school days in most regions.

Key breaks families should note

The calendar sets a nine-day autumn break from 21 to 29 November 2025, followed by a mid-year break from 9 to 17 January 2026. Founding Day falls on 22 February 2026.

The Eid al-Fitr holiday extends from 6 to 28 March 2026, while the Eid al-Adha break runs from 22 May to 1 June 2026. These fixed dates give families and residents an early view of the year ahead.

The move to a two-semester structure and the confirmation of dates well in advance help parents plan travel, childcare, and household routines.
