Operating revenues for short-term businesses in Saudi Arabia climbed 4.9% year-on-year in July 2026, with the Operating Revenue Index reaching 113.3 points compared with 108.0 points in July 2025. The figures point to broad-based growth across the Kingdom's commercial activity.
On a monthly basis, the index rose 1.2% in July 2026 compared with June 2026. The base year for the index is 2023, set at 100 points, giving a clear reference for tracking how business revenues have grown since then.
Which sectors drove the growth
Manufacturing activities led the annual gains with a 13.5% increase year-on-year, followed by financial and insurance activities at 9% and information and communication activities at 6.5%. Construction activities rose 1.6%, while wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles added 0.8%.
The monthly rise of 1.2% was supported by several sectors, including mining and quarrying activities, which grew 6.4% month-on-month, and information and communication activities, up 3.7%. Manufacturing added 0.8%, accommodation and food service activities rose 0.6%, and construction edged up 0.1%.
For residents and business owners, the numbers offer a useful read on the health of everyday commercial activity, from factories and shops to hospitality and telecoms. Steady growth in operating revenues signals continued momentum across sectors that many workers and consumers deal with directly, reflecting ongoing expansion in the wider economy.
