The Saudi stock market opened 2026 on a strong footing, with the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) trading above 11,000 points, driven largely by gains in energy and banking shares amid continued government spending and private-sector investment tied to رؤية السعودية 2030.
In the first quarter of 2026, the energy sector index climbed roughly 15% to 5,222 points, while the banks sector index rose about 10% to 13,524 points. Saudi Aramco shares recently traded near SAR 26.9 with a single-day gain of about 4.1%, adding significant momentum to the energy-led advance. Petro Rabigh was among the standout gainers, surging around 54% during the quarter.
Leading banks have also supported the rally, including Al Rajhi Bank, Saudi National Bank, Alinma Bank, and Banque Saudi Fransi, with year-to-date price gains ranging roughly from +6% to +21%. The parallel market Nomu remained active alongside TASI, trading near 22,600 points and posting its own gains during the energy-led rallies.
A notable regulatory shift takes effect this year: starting 1 February 2026, all categories of foreign investors can invest directly in the primary market under Capital Market Authority rules, broadening access to Saudi equities. Trading, listing, and disclosure continue to be handled through the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) electronic platform, with the standard schedule running Sunday to Thursday and weekends non-trading days.
For residents and expats following the market, the gains reflect broader optimism tied to ongoing Vision 2030 initiatives supporting sectors such as energy, banking, materials, insurance, and household products. Trading fees and commissions are applied through licensed brokers and the exchange, and exact schedules vary by broker and product.
