Saudi Ministry Boosts Advanced Manufacturing Drive

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has outlined the key features of the Kingdom's industrial transformation, centered on advanced manufacturing, technology transfer, and the localization of high-value production. The push aims to strengthen local content and attract high-tech investment across the country.

As part of this effort, the ministry launched the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center to accelerate the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, raise productivity, and support localized advanced manufacturing. The center backs programs designed to modernize 4,000 factories under the Future Factories Program.

To encourage investment, the ministry offers industrial incentives covering up to 35% of a project's initial investment, with a maximum of SAR 50 million The first incentive package targeted downstream chemicals, automotive manufacturing, and machinery and equipment.

A second package expanded the scope to include aviation, building materials, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food processing, maritime industries, and mining. The ministry's standard incentives are intended to support value-added industries and deepen the Kingdom's manufacturing base.

Why it matters

For residents and business owners, the drive signals expanding opportunities in high-tech and industrial sectors, more localized production, and new jobs tied to modern factories. The ministry's program support channels operate Sunday to Thursday, from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, via email, chat, and its account on X.
