Saudia has signed a memorandum of understanding with online travel platform almatar to expand travel options and enhance guest benefits through digital solutions. The agreement was signed on 10 September 2026 during WTM Spotlight Riyadh.
Under the framework, guests booking Saudia flights through the almatar platform will have access to preferential fares, with discounts applied directly within almatar’s booking engine. Specific fare amounts and discount percentages have not been publicly specified as of mid-September 2026.
The cooperation also gives travelers greater flexibility to amend or cancel Saudia bookings, subject to Saudia’s existing fare rules and conditions for each ticket type. No new fixed change or cancellation fees have been announced beyond standard Saudia tariffs.
The partnership is designed to cover the entire travel cycle — from trip planning until arrival at the destination — through integrated digital services inside almatar’s website and mobile application. Saudia’s own website and app remain the primary official interface for the airline.
The MoU explicitly extends benefits to Nusuk platform users, aiming to make travel arrangements smoother for pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia. No separate pricing changes for Saudia tickets have been announced under this arrangement.
Why it matters
For residents and visitors, the agreement adds another booking channel with potential savings and added flexibility, while Saudia continues expanding its portfolio of more than 260 planned digital and electronic services. The MoU is a commercial cooperation agreement between the two companies, not a customer contract, and it does not introduce any new government-platform processes. Visa, residency, and other official procedures continue through their respective government channels unchanged.
