Riyadh is set to host the Sports Investment Forum 2026, a specialized platform bringing together investors, decision-makers, and industry experts to accelerate growth in the Kingdom's sports economy. The forum runs over three days from 3 to 5 May 2026, while a separate SIF edition is scheduled at The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh from 20 to 22 April 2026, typically operating from 9:00 to 19:00.
Organized under the patronage and participation of the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Investment, with involvement from other government entities and giga-project representatives, the forum offers keynote sessions on sports investment and economic diversification, sector-specific workshops, an exhibition area, and a dedicated business platform for signing agreements and partnerships.
Highlighted activities include presentations on the privatization of sports clubs and facilities, panels on infrastructure development and stadium investment, and sessions covering media rights, e-sports, sports technology, and sports tourism as commercial growth areas. Dedicated tracks also address financing models and investment in women's sports.
Why it matters
A key outcome tied to the 2026 forum is a SR 1 billion private-sector sports development project in the Eastern Province, described as a private sector–driven infrastructure and facilities initiative. Past editions reported more than 60 investment agreements signed and over 50 strategic partners across club privatization, venue development, and sports media ventures.
The forum supports a national target of raising private sector participation in sports from roughly 15% to 25%, positioning it as a mechanism to identify and structure new investments. Participation draws senior officials, sovereign and institutional investors, club and federation executives, infrastructure providers, and advisory firms, with past attendance reaching several hundred delegates and more than 100 sports-related entities.
Registration and participation for the SIF Riyadh events are managed through dedicated event registration portals linked from the official event pages.
