Saudi Arabia has approved more than SAR 421 million in financing for the local gaming and esports sector as of the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, in a move set to strengthen one of the Kingdom's fastest-growing digital industries. The financing, delivered through the Gaming and Esports Financing Program, has so far benefited 82 entities and supported the development of more than 127 games.
The program is implemented by the Social Development Bank under the supervision of the National Development Fund, in partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation, and operates within the frameworks of the National Gaming and Esports Strategy and the Ignite Digital Content Program. Average financing 1 million.
What the financing covers
The main dedicated product is the Gaming & Esports Product, with a maximum financing ceiling of up to SAR 45 million for Saudi enterprises. Ceilings vary by enterprise size: up to SAR 2 million for micro enterprises, up to SAR 12 million for small enterprises, up to SAR 45 million for medium enterprises, and up to SAR 30 million for foreign enterprises.
Financing supports both working capital and capital expansion for game studios and publishers, distributors, retailers and service providers, esports clubs, tournament and league organizers, and gaming and tournament centers. Standard terms include financing tenure of up to eight years, a grace period of up to 24 months before repayment begins, and flexible repayment mechanisms set out in the financing contract.
How to apply
Applications are fully electronic, with no branch visit required. Interested enterprises can apply through the Social Development Bank's online portal or the national e-government services portal, where the service is listed as "E-gaming/E-sport."
The initiative reflects the growing role of gaming and esports in the Kingdom's economy and digital ambitions, offering local entrepreneurs and businesses new access to capital to build studios, host tournaments, and expand their operations.
