Al-Arifi Named Governor of National Development Fund

A royal order has appointed Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Arifi as Governor of the National Development Fund at the rank of Excellent, in a decision issued in February 2026.

The royal order was dated 24 Sha'ban 1447, corresponding to its publication in the official gazette Umm Al-Qura on 13 February 2026. Al-Arifi's appointment as Governor takes effect from February 2026.

The National Development Fund serves as an umbrella body overseeing a group of the Kingdom's development funds and banks, coordinating their strategies and performance to support national economic priorities. The new appointment is also reflected in Al-Arifi's role as a board member of the Human Resource Development Fund.

The move is part of the ongoing appointments at senior government levels tied to the Kingdom's development and economic agenda under رؤية السعودية 2030. Development funds play a central role in financing housing, industry, small and medium enterprises, and human-capital programs that touch the daily lives of residents across the country.

For the community in الرياض, جدة and beyond, leadership of the National Development Fund matters because the entities under its umbrella help shape access to financing, job-support programs, and services that many residents and businesses rely on.
