Al Ittihad beat Al Nassr 2-1 in Jeddah clash

Al Ittihad defeated Al Nassr 2-1 in a high-profile Saudi Pro League clash in Jeddah, with striker George Ilenikhena scoring both goals to secure victory for the hosts.

The result handed the defending champions their first defeat of the new league campaign, a setback that reshapes the picture at the top of the table early in the season.

Ilenikhena's brace proved decisive, with the forward stepping up on the night to deliver the goals that separated the two sides. Al Nassr managed a single reply but could not find an equaliser before the final whistle.

Why it matters

Matches between Al Ittihad and Al Nassr are among the most followed fixtures in the Kingdom, drawing large crowds and wide attention across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond. A result like this, especially one that ends an unbeaten run, adds fresh momentum to the title race.

For fans in Jeddah, the home win offers plenty to celebrate, while supporters across the country will be watching closely to see how both clubs respond in the weeks ahead as the season continues to unfold.
