Al Ittihad Beat Al Nassr 2-1 in Jeddah Derby

Al Ittihad defeated reigning champions Al Nassr 2–1 in a Saudi Pro League 2026–27 Matchday 5 fixture played in Jeddah on 5 September 2026, ending Al Nassr’s perfect start to the campaign.

The match took place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (also known as Alinma Stadium) in Jeddah before a recorded crowd of 47,661 spectators. George Ilenikhena put Al Ittihad ahead early with a brace, scoring in the 4th and 22nd minutes of the first half. Ângelo Gabriel pulled one back for Al Nassr in the 36th minute, but the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.

The result marked Al Nassr’s first league defeat of the 2026–27 season, bringing an end to their previously flawless winning run. The current campaign runs from 13 August 2026 to 29 May 2027.

King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, located north of Jeddah on Madinah Road, is one of the Kingdom’s premier football venues and a regular host of major league fixtures, including Al Ittihad’s home games. Kick-off times for league matches typically fall between the early evening and late night, generally around 18:00 to 22:00 local time.
