ATHR Gallery Opens Public Art Show in Al-Balad

Art lovers in Jeddah have a two-day opportunity to explore contemporary Saudi sculpture in one of the city's most historic settings. A public exhibition of monumental outdoor works opens at Bait Shouaib in Al-Balad, Historic Jeddah, on 23 and 24 September 2026.

The exhibition features large-scale outdoor sculptures by acclaimed Saudi artists Ahaad Alamoudi and Sultan Bin Fahad. Their pieces are set against the backdrop of Al-Balad's traditional architecture, pairing modern artistic expression with one of the Kingdom's most recognisable heritage districts.

Access is offered as a public open day, and no admission fee or advance booking requirement has been indicated. Visitors can simply attend during the two scheduled days. Confirmed visiting hours have not yet been announced, so guests are encouraged to check for timing details closer to the event.

Why it matters

Al-Balad remains a focal point for cultural life in Jeddah, and bringing contemporary art into its historic streets reflects the growing role of the arts in the city's public spaces. Placing monumental works in an open, walkable setting makes them accessible to residents, families, and visitors alike, without the barriers of ticketing or registration.

The showcase is scheduled only for 23 and 24 September 2026, making it a short-run event. Those planning to attend should mark the dates and follow the organiser's official website and social media channels for any updates on hours and access details.
