A new exhibition titled Built Memories: Where Time Settles is inviting visitors in Jeddah to revisit the city's modern architecture and the urban spaces that shaped daily life across several decades. The exhibition runs from 1 to 10 October 2026 at Hafez Gallery in the Ar Rawdah district.
The show focuses on Jeddah's architecture and urban environment from the 1970s to the early 2000s, tracing how the city's buildings, streets, and public spaces evolved over time and how they live on in collective memory.
Visitors can experience the theme through a wide range of formats, including photography, painting, sculpture, film, installations, and architectural models. The mix of media is designed to capture both the physical details of the structures and the personal memories attached to them.
Alongside the displays, the exhibition offers public programming that includes talks, panel discussions, and guided tours, giving attendees a chance to engage more deeply with the stories behind the architecture.
For residents and longtime Jeddah families, the exhibition is an opportunity to reconnect with familiar landmarks and neighbourhoods, while newcomers can gain insight into how the city took shape in the decades before its recent transformations. Admission fees and daily opening hours were not specified.
