Rafha Expands Sports Pitches, Parks and Academies

Rafha Governorate is widening community participation in sport through a growing network of municipal pitches, academies, parks and training programs that serve athletes of all ages and skill levels.

The governorate now has 15 municipal sports pitches alongside academies for both team and individual sports. These venues host regular training programs, tournaments, neighborhood leagues and community competitions, with afternoon and evening booking slots—especially on weekends—nearing full capacity.

Specialized academies focus on building technical and physical skills while helping identify promising athletes who can be developed further. For residents, the combination of accessible pitches and structured coaching offers a clear pathway from casual play to competitive sport.

Green spaces play a major role, too. Rafha has around 40 parks and gardens covering more than 1.4 million square meters, featuring walking paths, sports tracks and exercise areas. Three model walking tracks operate within the city's green spaces, with additional pedestrian and sports paths available. King Fahd Park and the governorate's integrated sports facilities remain among the best-known local amenities.

Esports and new facilities

A dedicated Rafha esports headquarters is being built in phases. Planned facilities include the club headquarters, an in-person tournament venue and a gaming-community space, reflecting rising interest in competitive gaming across the Kingdom.

A listed padel facility, Move Padel, currently displays a price of SAR 1, though this figure does not confirm whether it reflects a full-session rate, a promotional offer or a bookable fee. Residents are encouraged to verify any fees, registration steps, booking channels and operating hours directly before planning a visit, as no confirmed current details were available for the municipal pitches, academies, parks or clubs.
