Baljurashi Saturday Market Keeps Al-Baha Heritage Alive

In the heart of Baljurashi city in Al-Baha Region, the historic Saturday Market — known locally as Souq Alsabt — continues to draw local residents and visitors as one of the area's longest-running weekly traditional souks. Held every Saturday at its centuries-old site, the market remains a lively fixture of the region's commercial and social life in 2026.

The souk operates as an open, walk-in public market with no ticket or entry fee for shoppers. Visitors can browse a wide mix of goods laid out by individual vendors and productive families, from local agricultural produce and honey to livestock such as chickens and pigeons, eggs, traditional handicrafts, and prepared traditional foods.

Prices reflect the market's local character. Honey from Al-Baha typically ranges from 150 to 400 Saudi Riyal with premium sidr and similar varieties at the upper end. Fresh farm produce such as vegetables, greens and seasonal fruits is generally priced between 5 and 20 Saudi Riyal Poultry and pigeons sold by individual vendors usually fall between 30 and 80 Saudi Riyal while ready-to-eat dishes from productive families are commonly sold for 10 to 35 Saudi Riyal

Why it matters

Beyond shopping, the Saturday Market serves as a gathering point that keeps Baljurashi's commercial heritage in continuous use, giving small farmers, beekeepers and productive families a direct channel to sell their goods. For residents and visitors exploring Al-Baha, it offers an authentic taste of the region's traditions and a chance to buy local products directly from those who make and grow them.
