Civil Defense Lifts Emergency Alerts in Several Cities

Saudi Civil Defense has lifted the emergency alerts that were earlier issued for several cities over a potential danger linked to recent security incidents, declaring that normal conditions have returned to the affected areas.

The alerts were issued and then cleared for Najran, Jazan, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, Jeddah, AlUla, and other southern and southwestern areas. The warnings were tied to recent cross-border attacks by Houthi forces from Yemen targeting civilian and economic sites in the country's south and west.

Messages were sent through the National Early Warning Platform for emergencies, reaching residents via mobile notifications and public alerts. The service is part of the state's civil protection efforts, and receiving or responding to these alerts carries no fees or charges.

What residents should do

Even after the all clear, Civil Defense asked the public to keep following its safety instructions, to avoid gatherings and filming in affected areas, and to call the emergency number 998 to report incidents or request help.

The alerts are temporary and issued only for a limited period during a possible threat. When the danger passes, an "all clear" message is sent to confirm the situation has returned to normal.

Authorities stressed the importance of relying only on official Civil Defense channels for information and ignoring rumors or unverified content circulating on social media during and after any alert. The General Directorate of Civil Defense remains the official source for issuing warnings and posting all-clear updates.
