Saudi Arabia will host the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival at Taif Camel Square in Taif Governorate, running from 3 to 13 September 2026. The festival forms part of the Kingdom's camel racing calendar and will feature Arab rounds dedicated to non-Gulf Arab member federations.
The 2026 program includes 248 races with total prize money exceeding SAR 50 million. Competitions will feature both human and robotic riders, continuing the mix of tradition and technology that has become a hallmark of camel racing in the Kingdom.
A key addition this year is the new Crown Prince Camel Festival Cup for Saudi participants, introduced for the first time in the 2026–27 season. The top points earner will receive a prize of SAR 500,000, offering an added incentive for local competitors.
Why it matters
Held at the historic Taif Camel Racecourse, the festival celebrates one of the Kingdom's most enduring sporting and cultural traditions. By opening the program to non-Gulf Arab federations through the Arab rounds, the event strengthens regional participation while showcasing camel sports to residents and visitors alike.
For families and heritage enthusiasts across Saudi Arabia, the ten-day event offers an opportunity to experience a signature part of the country's cultural identity during the cooler days of early September in Taif.
