The Saudi senior national basketball team arrived in Doha on Saturday, 15 August 2026, to begin a preparatory camp and take part in the three-day international friendly tournament known as the “3 Nations Friendly Games,” bringing together Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain from 20 to 22 August 2026.
All matches will be staged at Al Janoub Stadium in Doha, with each game tipping off at 19:00 (7:00 pm) local time. The schedule opens on 20 August with Qatar facing Bahrain, followed by Bahrain against Saudi Arabia on 21 August, and closes with Qatar versus Saudi Arabia on 22 August.
Bahrain's national team delegation is due to arrive in Doha on 19 August, a day before the tournament tips off, to play its two fixtures against Qatar and Saudi Arabia as part of its final preparation phase.
Why it matters
The friendly tournament forms part of the participating teams' build-up toward the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and the qualification and participation programs for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. For the Saudi side, the Doha camp is one stage of a wider high-performance program that has included overseas training, most recently a camp in Turkey, alongside competitive fixtures in Asian qualifiers.
For basketball fans across the Kingdom, the three-nation event offers an early look at the national team's form and lineup ahead of a busy calendar of regional and continental competition.
