Expo 2030 Riyadh has signed a cooperation agreement with Expo 2027 Belgrade, establishing a framework for structured knowledge transfer and an observer program between the two organizing teams. The deal was signed during a ceremony in Belgrade attended by the Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions, as part of an official visit by the Expo 2030 Riyadh delegation to Serbia.
The agreement spans governance, site development, participant management, operational readiness, digital systems, and live event operations. Cooperation activities will include site visits, observer programs, workshops, and expert exchanges, allowing both cities to share lessons learned, operational practices, and innovative approaches as they prepare for their respective expos.
Expo 2030 Riyadh is Saudi Arabia's first World Expo, formally confirmed after the Bureau International des Expositions General Assembly in Paris approved its Registration Dossier. Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is the official entity mandated to plan, develop, and deliver the event throughout its life cycle in collaboration with Saudi government bodies and international partners.
Partnerships and funding
The commercial framework includes Premier Partners committing around SAR 1.5–2.5 billion each, and Official Partners committing around SAR 400–800 million each, alongside Official Supporters and Suppliers. As of March 2026, secured and near-final commitments are estimated at SAR 8–9 billion toward a SAR 12 billion revenue target. Saudi Aramco is a Premier Partner with an estimated sponsorship value of about SAR 2.5 billion, the largest single sponsor so far.
Expo 2030 Riyadh is also building strategic partnerships within the Kingdom, including with the Saudi Tourism Authority to promote Saudi tourism, coordinate marketing plans, and enhance the visitor experience. The agreements underline growing momentum ahead of an event expected to draw millions of visitors to the capital and showcase the Kingdom on a global stage.
