Falcon Breeders Auction 2026 Wraps in Riyadh

The International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026 concluded at the National Center for Falcons headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, after running from 5 August to 25 August 2026 with daily sessions from about 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. On the final night, three falcons were sold for a combined SAR 349,000.

Organized by the National Center for Falcons (Saudi Falcons Club), the event is positioned as a leading commercial platform for captive-bred falcons, drawing breeding farms and investors from inside the Kingdom and abroad. The highest-priced bird on closing night came from a Canadian breeding farm, opening at SAR 100,000 and selling for SAR 271,000. A falcon from a Polish farm sold for SAR 32,000, while a third bird went for SAR 46,000.

Record prices during the run

The auction's standout sale came on the seventh night, when a Canadian-bred juvenile three-quarter gyr "Super White" falcon sold for SAR 1.3 million after bidding opened at SAR 200,000 — the most expensive bird of 2026 and the second-highest price in the auction's history. The same farm sold another pure gyrfalcon chick that evening for SAR 150,000, taking its combined takings to SAR 1.45 million.

On opening night, two falcons from a Canadian farm were sold for a combined SAR 540,000, while the sixth night saw five falcons from farms in Germany, Slovenia, Romania and Ireland sold for a total of SAR 348,000.

For buyers and sellers, the auction charged no transaction fees on falcon sales, with payments handled through the platform provided by the National Center for Falcons. The event highlights Riyadh's growing role as a hub for the falconry trade, an activity deeply tied to Saudi heritage and increasingly attracting international breeding farms.
