Saudi Bank Deposits Rise 8.9% to SAR 3.13tn in June 2026

Saudi Arabia's banking sector recorded solid growth in June 2026, as bank deposits climbed 8.9% year on year to reach SAR 3.132 trillion, with deposit growth continuing to outpace lending across the Kingdom.

Over the same period, bank credit rose 7.3% year on year to SAR 3.419 trillion, while the broad money supply, known as M3, expanded 8.4% year on year to SAR 3.38 trillion.

The figures show a clear pattern: deposits grew faster than credit in June 2026. When savings and balances held in banks rise more quickly than new lending, it generally reflects a well-funded banking system and steady confidence among households and businesses in keeping their money within local banks.

Why it matters for the community

For residents and expats, a healthy deposit base supports the stability of the banks where salaries are received and everyday finances are managed. Strong deposit growth typically gives lenders a larger, more stable pool of funds, which can help sustain services and lending capacity over time.

Continued credit growth of 7.3% also signals ongoing demand for financing among individuals and companies, an indicator of active economic momentum. Together, the numbers point to a banking sector that is expanding steadily while remaining well supported by customer deposits as June 2026 draws to a close.
