Expo 2030 Riyadh Signs Tourism MoU with Atout France

Expo 2030 Riyadh has signed a memorandum of understanding with Atout France, the French National Tourism Development Agency, establishing a cooperative framework for strategic collaboration and technical and knowledge exchange in tourism and the organization of major international events.

The agreement focuses on Expo planning and delivery. It covers the optimization of operations, enhancement of the visitor experience, and the development of long-term legacy planning for Expo 2030 Riyadh, ensuring the event's benefits extend well beyond its six-month run in the capital.

The partnership is designed to support Saudi Arabia's economic, cultural, and tourism objectives, with a clear emphasis on sustainable tourism and environmentally responsible practices that continue after the Expo period ends.

Beyond the two signatories, the MoU opens broader cooperation opportunities for Saudi public and private sector entities to exchange expertise with French counterparts across tourism, culture, innovation, and the management of large international events.

Separately, France has become the first official participant in Expo 2030 Riyadh after signing its Participation Contract, which sets out the location, allocated space, theme, and visitor experience of the France Pavilion during the Expo.

What it means for residents

This is a strategic and technical cooperation agreement between institutions, not a consumer or business service. As of late August 2026, there are no Expo ticket prices, pavilion entry fees, or visitor packages in Saudi Riyals linked specifically to this MoU, and no new visa procedures, application fees, or registration steps have been announced for individuals or companies. Existing tourism and visa processes remain under the usual competent authorities without any changes tied to this agreement.
