FileCloud Expands Riyadh HQ for PDPL Compliance

FileCloud is expanding its regional headquarters in Riyadh in 2026, deepening a base first established in 2025 to serve organizations across the Middle East and North Africa. The expansion focuses on data sovereignty, local data residency, and compliance with Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) for both public and private sector organizations.

The Riyadh hub gives Saudi organizations several deployment options, including on-premises, hybrid, and locally hosted cloud services inside the Kingdom. A specialized PDPL configuration is available through a dedicated tab in the company's Compliance Center, letting administrators set controls for data residency, privacy, governance, file sharing, security, accountability, and retention limitation in line with the law.

The PDPL applies to all entities processing the personal data of individuals in Saudi Arabia, including those based outside the country, and carries stringent requirements and penalties for non-compliance. FileCloud says its PDPL template is designed to help automate alignment with these rules.

New Tools for Saudi Organizations

As part of the expansion, FileCloud now offers native integration with the Saudi e-signature platform Signit, allowing users to prepare documents and send them for signature directly from within the platform while meeting local trust and compliance expectations. The company is also rolling out AI-powered collaboration features that let organizations search, analyze, and extract information from stored content while keeping data inside controlled environments; early-access sign-ups are scheduled to open in September 2026.

In addition, FileCloud plans to launch a local cloud SaaS offering hosted in Saudi Arabia starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, giving organizations that must keep data within the Kingdom another option. Together, these steps combine secure file sharing, governance, e-signature integration, AI collaboration, and compliance tooling to support digital transformation programs in a way consistent with Saudi data residency and PDPL requirements.
