Saudi Awwal Bank posts SAR 6.6bn nine-month profit

Saudi Awwal Bank reported a net profit after zakat and income tax of SAR 6.582 billion for the nine months ended 30 September 2026, up 3% from SAR 6.405 billion in the same period of 2025.

Total operating income rose 1% year-on-year to SAR 11.116 billion, reflecting steady growth across the bank's core activities during the period.

The bank's balance sheet showed clear expansion. Net loans and advances climbed 11% to SAR 325 billion, while customer deposits increased to SAR 325 billion from SAR 315 billion a year earlier. Total equity reached SAR 80 billion, up from SAR 78 billion.

Why it matters

The results point to continued stability in the Saudi banking sector, which remains a key engine for financing businesses and households across the Kingdom. Higher lending levels suggest sustained demand for credit from companies and individuals, including residents and expats who rely on banks for everyday financial services, home financing, and business growth.

With deposits and equity both rising, the figures underline the sector's capacity to support ongoing economic activity in line with the Kingdom's long-term development goals.
